IN June 2019, as part of the Crediton Festival, CODS will be putting on a production celebrating the contribution made by the people of Crediton and the surrounding villages during the First World War.

This will be in the form of words and music, and will require actors, musicians and people to help with putting such a production together.

It is intended to open this up to the whole community to be involved.

The story loosely revolves around the Setter family who sent nine sons off to war, all returned home but unfortunately one died of wounds received at the Battle of Ypres and died in 1919.

CODS intend this to be a combined CODS and Community production and would welcome anyone who wishes to be involved in any capacity.

Songs featured in “The Men Who Marched Away, Kirton 1914-19” are by artists including Steve Knightly (“Show of Hands”), Mike Harding, Robb Johnson, etc.

There will be a read through and playing of all the songs on Tuesday, February 19, in the Old Town Hall, Crediton, beginning at 7.30pm.
