MEMBERS of CODS express a huge thank you to J G Quicke and Partners of Newton St Cyres, who for many years have generously supported CODS activities by allowing a barn on their farm to be used for the storage of scenery, props, stage blocks, seating units, set building materials etc.

Without this support, the society would never have been able to achieve the levels of quality and innovation in set design and construction that have been widely admired by its audiences.

Gillian MacKenzie, vice chairman of CODS told the Courier: “We are immensely grateful to Quickes for all that they have done for us.

“We are now in urgent need of a new store and are seeking the assistance of the good folks of Crediton and the surrounding area in this.

“If you or someone you know just happens to have a disused, weatherproof building or a small piece of redundant land upon which we could site a building that could be used as a storage and workshop facility, we would be extremely pleased to hear from you.

“We have to vacate our current building by the end of October and although we are likely to need to find a short-term solution, we must also come up with a longer-term plan.”

If you are able to help, please contact Anton Heal on 07970 227 753 or Gillian Mackenzie on 07531 840 032.

If you want to see some more of CODS then head along to Crediton Parish Church tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, where they will be giving a concert as part of “Son et Lumiere”.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced at £10 (adults) and £6 (under 16s), are available on the door.
