AREA demonstrator, Tracey Johnson, came from Torquay to demonstrate “In touch with nature” at Crediton Flower Club’s May meeting.

In addition to being a trained florist Tracey is also very accomplished in many forms of craft work and brought beautiful examples of her work along to enhance her arrangements.

She had also made many of her containers with very innovative ideas including mosaic work and needle felting.

Tracey’s love of nature was an obvious theme throughout, with the use of beautiful plant material and flowers, and with themes ranging from a walk through English woodland, nature in the tropics, leaf topiary to a finale of flowers in beautiful shades of pink in an ornate metal stand, the finishing touch being dyed guinea fowl feathers!

The vote of thanks was given by club secretary, June Harry, for what had been a delightful and inspirational evening.

The club has its annual outing in June and the next meeting at the Boniface Centre will be on Thursday, July 14 at 7.15pm. This will be a demonstration by Janet Dungworth entitled “Flowers for the soul to enjoy”. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
