THE always popular Local History Day of talks and information returns to Crediton Library on Wednesday, July 19, from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
There will be talks from a number of history and heritage organisations as well as a chance to ask questions and get further information on their work and how to access their resources.
The programme for the talks is:
9.30am: Sue Bond (Devon Family History Society) - "Who do you think you are? With a local twist".
10.45am: Sarah Jayne Ainsworth (Special Collections Team Leader) and Annie Price (Archivist) from University of Exeter - "Accessing University of Exeter Special Collections, The Crediton Parish Library and The Edmund Collection of Local History".
1pm: Brian Carpenter and Kate Parr (South West Heritage Trust) - "Gems from the Westcountry Studies Library".
2.15pm: Mark Norman (Folklore Library and Archive) - "The Devonshire Folklore Collection".
In addition to the organisations providing speakers, there will be further information tables from the Devonshire Association and Crediton Museum.
Tickets are just £5 for the whole day, or you can dip into individual talks for £2 each.
