THE Chairman of Devon County Council, Cllr Percy Prowse, has issued the following Christmas message.
It reads: “The festive period is a time of great joy and celebration for most of us.
“It is also a very busy time and the pressure to deliver the ‘perfect’ Christmas can feel quite overwhelming.
“I would urge you all, if you can, to take a moment to be mindful of the real ‘gift’ of Christmas: our friends and family, and our communities. Relationships, togetherness and love, which cost nothing, are priceless.
“Do enjoy the precious time spent with loved ones, and, if there is someone you know who is struggling, consider extending the hand of friendship over the festive season.
“You may be amazed at the response you receive. All acts of kindness, however small, can make a huge difference. To all the residents of Devon, I wish you a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.”
