MEMBERS of Tedburn St Mary WI continue to have a busy and enjoyable year.
The branch now has nearly 40 members in total and all have had plenty on offer to them via their WI in June.
Tedburn St Mary WI aim to have a lunch out every month, providing members with the opportunity to relax and socialise, but also to give support to local businesses.
In June the lunch out celebrated the birthday of Tedburn St Mary WI, with members gathering to mark the occasion of another year of this successful community group.
Also in June members had the chance to join a workshop in the use of Brusho, highly pigmented paint crystals, which create vibrant bursts of colour to use in art projects.
The workshop focus was on making an image of flowers in a vase, using painting and collage techniques. Everyone had a great time.
The speaker at the June meeting was Alan French, a local horticulturist.
Alan has a wealth of knowledge about horticulture and delivered a fascinating presentation, which included lots of gardening tips and information about planting for pollinators, different conditions and soil types, and wildlife friendly gardens.
The presentation was linked to a beautiful display of plants, which were available to purchase.
Regular meetings are held in Tedburn St Mary Village Hall on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm.
As always, prospective new members will be warmly welcomed.
There are lots of activities on offer at Tedburn St Mary WI every month, including good speakers, walks, and knitting and craft sessions.
The first meeting attended is free, to enable a prospective member to decide whether to join.
