THE village of Cheriton Fitzpaine saw a very busy time in the few weeks leading up to Christmas.
The Ad Hoc Group, led by Jo Ward held a Christmas Concert in the Methodist Church, during which Jo gave a tribute to the late Ray Sanders, who had been a much valued member of the Group.
The Group sang a selection of seasonal music interspersed with readings from Julian Varker, ad-libbing for his wife Ann, who had had an accident.
Refreshments were served in the Parish Hall afterwards.
CHILDREN’S PAINTING COMPETITION
Local Artist, Jenny Cave, together with Lesley Rogers, organised a children’s painting competition entitled “Come and Join the Celebration”.
More than 30 paintings were displayed around the walls of the parish hall, and judged by Jenny and another local artist, Catherine Aneja.
The winner of the over seven’s was Thora Cliffe-Duffield, with the under seven’s prize going to Alexi Fricker.
Every child who entered received a prize and parents and children enjoyed tea while they looked at the paintings.
CRAFT MORNING
The Methodist Church also held a Children’s Craft morning, during which children (and some parents) made decorations for the Church, and cards and gifts to take home.
