TABLES and benches in rows in the playground and a proper "top table" with a bride whose own wedding was the following week all helped make Tedburn St Mary Primary School’s Royal Wedding Party go with a swing.

Miss Katie Richards was the bride and she is marrying Colin Skinner, Head of PE at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton.

There was a cake for the top table with children taking the parts of the bridegroom, the best man, bridesmaids and guests, the bride having been walked down the aisle formed by pupils. All good fun.

Children had taken savoury or sweet items with them that morning to share for the tea, lots of them managing to wear red, white or blue or all three.

After the tea was music and dancing, games and fun.
