A YOUNG man was taken away by police in handcuffs following an incident at a property in the Newcombes area of Crediton at about 5.30pm today, Tuesday, May 20.

Four police cars and two police riot vans attended the scene.
One local witness told the Courier that a man was searched and found in possession of items as she watched.
Police arrived at the scene with sirens blaring and two police vehicles also left the scene with sirens blaring.
Devon and Cornwall Police have been asked for a statement.
