POLICE are investigating a serious road traffic collision on the A361 near Rackenford, Tiverton on Thursday, July 30 and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were notified at around 10am of a two-vehicle collision which involved a heavy goods vehicle with a trailer and a red MG car.
As a result of the collision, a young boy and a teenaged girl sustained suspected life-changing injuries. Both were airlifted to hospital.
A woman in her 60s also sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
Another woman in the car sustained minor injuries and the male lorry driver was discharged at the scene.
The road was closed whilst the investigation took place.
The closure was handed over to highways at around 6.20pm and was fully reopened after the scene had been cleared.
