CREDITON Police have issued an appeal after youths have been seen climbing on the roof of Crediton Library during a few recent evenings.

The youths were also seen accessing the library garden which overlooks Newcombes Meadow park.

The police report: “Sadly minor damage has been caused.

“Crediton Library is used by many local residents and it does offer a great space so we would like to prevent any further damage.

“Therefore we are urging anyone who witnesses such inappropriate behaviour to contact the police at the time.”

In the past there have been reports of youths climbing on the Crediton Bowling Club roof and also walking across the bowling club green late at night in Newcombes Meadow.
