DEVON and Cornwall Police are investigating a serious road traffic collision in Tiverton which occurred on Wednesday, February 11.

Officers were notified of the collision, which involved a white Hyundai Tucson and a pedestrian on Bampton Street just before 1pm.

The pedestrian, a 74-year-old local woman, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital by a Devon Air Ambulance.

The road was closed and officers would like to thank the public for their patience while an examination of the scene took place. It was reopened at around 9.30pm.
