DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called at 7.47pm on Saturday, August 2 to a report of an electrical consumer box on fire in a domestic property in Stockleigh Pomeroy, near Crediton.
Three fire engines, from Crediton, Tiverton and Danes Castle in Exeter were sent.
On arrival crews confirmed that the consumer box was on fire and the property was smoke logged.
Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, one safety jet, six sets of breathing apparatus, six dry powder extinguishers and used two thermal imaging cameras to check the fire was out.
A smoke clearance fan was also used.
There was 10 per cent fire damage to the ground floor and 50 per cent smoke damage to the property.
National grid were also in attendance to isolate the supply. The cause of the fire was accidental.
The incident was closed at 10.51pm on Saturday, August 2.
