POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a large number of store lambs from the North Devon area.
The lambs are Suffolk cross and Texel cross and a mix of male and female were stolen between 10am on September 15 and 10am on September 16.
Devon and Cornwall PC Lee Skinner from the Police Rural Affairs Team said: “Offenders would have needed a large lorry or several trailer trips for the amount stolen.
“Anyone with any information please contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101, quoting reference number 50250242197.
“If you are a livestock owner, please be aware of any suspicious activity on your farm/land, utilising CCTV, lighting, locked gates and additional checks on your stock.
“Please report any suspicious incidents to Police on 999.”
In addition, PC Skinner said that the Rural Affairs Team at Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for livestock owners to be aware that we have seen an increase in ram thefts throughout both counties and are encouraging livestock owners to take extra security measures to protect their stock.
He said: “Police have received a report of theft of seven rams in the Liskeard area which were stolen between September 14 and September 18, which include Texel, Scotch Black Face and Herdwick rams.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting reference 50250242997 or report any information anonymously via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.”
