A LARGE branch hanging dangerously from a tree in Exhibition Road in Crediton has forced the closure of the road between Exhibition Corner and Blagdon housing estate.
Police are at the scene enforcing the road closure today, Monday, July 14.
A police spokesman said that the branch was heard to crack and break by allotment holders working in the Town Council allotments opposite.

He added that the branch is large and could result in serious consequences if it landed on a vehicle.
At 4pm he said that specialist tree surgeons are due to attend within the next two hours.
The branch is very high and it is believed will require a telehandler to allow it to be cut safely.
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
