UPDATE: The gas leak has been stopped and the cordon lifted.
Exeter Central railway station has reopened.
----------
FIREFIGHTERS have cordoned off 100 metres of Queen Street in Exeter after reports of a gas leak in a nearby flat.
Great Western Railway has also shut Exeter Central station. Trains are still able to pass through but not stop there. Services between Exeter St Davids and Exmouth may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
The fire service was called just before 4pm and it has sent four engines and a specialist appliance to the scene. It is currently waiting for Wales and West Utilities and the National Grid to arrive.
The cordon is in place from the Rougemont Hotel towards the clock tower.
