THE A3072 at Green Hill, Sampford Courtenay near North Tawton is closed in both directions due to a serious road traffic accident at Sampford Cross.

The closure is from the New Inn to the North Tawton turning at the junction with the A3124.

Reports are that a car has come to rest on its roof and that emergency services are in attendance.

The incident is believed to have occurred at about 10.30am this morning, Saturday, June 6.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.

It is unknown if anyone was seriously injured.
