DEVON and Cornwall Police have confirmed that the body of a man was located on Kingsand beach, Torpoint, on Friday, December 23 has been identified as John Harrison from Crediton.

In a statement the police said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

“Formal identification has taken place.

“The family of John Harrison (52), from Crediton, who was reported missing on Sunday, October 17, have been made aware.”

In December John’s family issued a fresh appeal to try to find him.

He is believed to have entered the river on an inflatable kayak, and was last seen paddling up the estuary from Kingsbridge towards Salcombe at 4.55pm on October 17.
