FIRE crews from Chulmleigh and Torrington helped fight a fire that destroyed a farm building full of hay, straw and machinery near Bideford on Sunday, June 8.
The fire service was alerted to the blaze just after 3.20am.
It immediately deployed firefighters from Appledore and Bideford, a water carrier from Barnstaple and two fire officers.
When they got there, they found the farm building ablaze and called for backup. Crews from Torrington and Barnstaple and the command support unit from Ilfracombe were sent to the scene.
More crews were dispatched to help fight the fire through the early hours.
Firefighters began scaling down the incident at 6.45am and they allowed the blaze to burn out under control for the rest of the day.
The cause was accidental.
