THE A377 is now open to traffic between the Tesco petrol station and Hookway Cross following an earlier collision between a vehicle and a wooden telegraph pole carrying a power cable.

The vehicle has been moved and the cable and about half of the wooden pole are lying along a pavement.

Pedestrians are advised to not use the area.

Notices warning “Danger of Death” have been placed on the cable.

It is expected that the road will be closed to enable the pole and cable to be replaced.
