ON Saturday November 7, a full peal of 5,000+ changes will be attempted on the church bells at Holy Cross, Crediton.

The band will be drawn entirely from the Exeter Cathedral ringers and will include Geoff and Sue Sparling from the Holy Cross band. The peal attempt will be conducted by Crediton native Michael Mears.

Also in the band is Ian Smith who rings at Tavistock. Ian will be celebrating his 70th birthday the very next day.

The peal is due to start at 10am and will take just over three hours to complete.
