ABOUT 50 people attended Crediton Methodist Church for a typical African meal which was cooked by Jacqueline Nga’Nga together with her husband Daniel, who is Youth Pastor at Crediton Congregational Church.
Young people from Crediton Methodist Church also helped with the preparations.
The evening was organised to publicise and celebrate the work of Devon-based charity, Edukid, which supports children and young people in Uganda through education, or with small business loans, by finding sponsors in the UK and worldwide.
Crediton’s Big Top Youth Café sponsor a seven-year boy, Oscar, through Edukid.
One of the young people, Hannah Smith, has recently visited Uganda and met Oscar and she gave an interesting and inspiring talk about her experiences. The evening was a great success and £191.50 was raised for Edukid. For more information about the work of Edukid, please visit: www.edukid.org.uk .
