MORE than 400 people, all ages of Scouting in Mid Devon, descended on Bow Recreation Field at Burston Meadow during the weekend of June 11 and 12 for Mid Devon Scouts first camp.
This meant that boys and girls from the ages of four years upwards plus Leaders and some parents attended.
They came from Sandford, Crediton, Tedburn St Mary and Cheriton Bishop, Zeal Monachorum, Okehampton, North Tawton, Bow and Chulmleigh, including Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
From arrival during Friday afternoon and evening until Sunday afternoon there were games and competitions among the activities, including two bouncy castles, one a Wipe Out and a climbing wall.
Each of the eight Units was given a Commonwealth country to represent as its Gateway and each took part in the Gang Show, winners of both receiving a shield.
The Jubilee badges designed by nine years-old Maisie Bourne of North Tawton, winner of the district competition, were given to each boy or girl.
