MEMBERS of the Coldridge Knit and Natter Group, a project started by resident Helen Smith many years ago, have decorated the Parish Christmas Tree on Coldridge Green with 320 knitted and crotched poppies for Remembrance.

The poppies are mostly Flanders Red, but there are also some white, a few purple and a couple of Ukrainian (blue and yellow) ones.

The Coldridge Parish Act of Remembrance will take place on Sunday, November 9 with everyone meeting by the War Memorial at the Green at 10.45am for the Remembrance with two minutes’ silence at 11am.

Following that, proceedings move to the Church for the Remembrance Service, which includes readings, a poem and prayers led by members of the community.

Refreshments will then be served in the church after the service.
