CREDSING, the vibrant concert held to celebrate our singing community, which took place in Crediton Congregational Church as part of CredFest, was a huge success with almost 300 people singing in glorious harmony.

Choirs from across Devon gathered and joined hearts and voices as one in the “BIG SING”, to sing “Move when the Spirit say Move”, by Tony Backhouse.

Alison Whittall, organiser, explained that this four-part glorious harmony gospel song, taught by ear, raised the roof at the church and also raised £850 for Help Refugees, £250 for Crediton Congregational Church and £100 for CredFest.

She added: “It was a joy to hear so many voices blending as one through the power of song.

“Special thanks to the Crediton Congregational Church who have been a huge support with this event helping with refreshments, Audio Visual desk and publicity.”

Alison leads “Heartsong” in Crediton Congregational Church every second Sunday of the month (although not in August!) at 7.30pm and she says that “this is an undiscovered gem!”

Each session is a one off and the songs are sublime, uplifting and beautiful and nourish the heart and invigorate the spirit!

The sessions include Harmonic Temple, Taize, gospel, contemporary song and world song.

She said that sessions provide exhilarating harmony in a safe and welcoming space.

She added: “You don’t need any experience to attend as all songs are taught easily by ear.

“Come and join us anytime - refreshments after each session! We could do with a few more basses! So come and massage your heart in harmony at Heartsong”.

The date of the next Heartsong is Sunday, July 14, all welcome!
