CREDITON and Copplestone Little PUMA and Taekwon-Do students attended the PUMA Southern Championships in Plymouth.

A total of 25 students, of all ages and grades, took part in the event, supported by their families and friends.

Students from Copplestone and Crediton came away with 19 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

Dave Powlesland explained: "The standard was very high with over 400 competitors taking part.

"I was so proud of all those that took part and represented the schools, but was also overwhelmed by the level of conduct from the team.

"I was approached by several of our associations senior masters and instructors, who commented on the standard of our students, their conduct and etiquette – a large part of what a Martial Art endorses and as martial students we should display."

Dave added: "A big thank you to all the parents and families of our students for their support and help, all working together to allow us to achieve what we do and set the standards that we have within our local Taekwon-Do and Little PUMA Crediton and Copplestone family."

Dave is honoured to have students achieving such high standards and is particularly proud of daughter Sarah and son Ryan who will be representing PUMA England at the Open World Championships at the weekend (March 19 and 20).
