TWO well-known faces at Helmores Estate Agents in Crediton have raised more than £1,000 to be divided to three charities after undertaking a five-day charity cycle challenge.

Will St Pier and George Clover raised funds for Devon-based suicide bereavement charity Pete's Dragons, FORCE Cancer Charity which supports many locally and Crediton Foodbank which is a lifeline for local families in need.

George explained after arriving back in Crediton: “Thank you to everyone for your kindness and support. Will and I started out thinking this would be a challenge, and it really was.

“I was probably a bit ambitious when I planned the route. I didn’t quite take into account what the weather, the hills and the mileage would do to us day after day.

“We had to reroute after day one to make our overnight stops, but we still managed over 250 miles. Barnstaple to Padstow, Padstow to St Ives, then on to St Austell, Torquay and finally home to Crediton.

“We missed some of the scenery we’d hoped for, but not the challenge. Seized seat posts, worn out cleats, a few unplanned dismounts and some very sore knees and ankles. But we got there. And we’re proud to have done it for Force, Petes Dragons and Crediton Foodbank.

“If you’re able to donate a little more, we’d be so grateful. What a few days. Now for a sleep.”

The ride was proudly supported by Helmores Estate Agents, and you can see images on Helmores’ social media pages.
