FORTUNATELY, the pitches at Lords Meadow in Crediton held up to allow two entertaining games in the morning of Saturday, November 5.
Crediton Youth U15s took on West Exe and ran out 4-1 winners.
Two Ben Betts first-half goals, and second-half strikes from Charlie Cookson and Gabriel Smith clinched their victory.
It was a big game for the U13s as they entertained an in-form Moors Youth. Crediton took the lead just before the break.
Moors levelled things up just after the restart.
The home side edged in front, only for Moors to draw level again within a minute.
With five minutes to go the Crediton lads scored again to secure a 3-2 victory. Archie Smith, Jake Shepherd and Jake Stagg getting the Crediton goals.
Sunday, November 6 saw Crediton Youth have four sides in County Cup action with all four making it through to the next round.
The U14s progressed after a 5-1 home win over Central Hawks. Another Rhys Ebdy hat-trick, with Ollie Baker and Ollie Shorey also on target for them.
Also, at home were the U10 girls who put in a strong performance against Twyford Spartans. Hat-tricks from Merryn Eatherley and Sabine Roth helped them through to the next round.
The U12 girls were away at Paignton Villa and they came away with a 7-1 victory. Gracie Clements, Gracie Pugsley, Lexi Mullen and Evelyn Richardson Miller amongst the goals for them.
It was a change of scenery for the U14 girls who travelled to Torrington for their cup tie.
But the Creddy girls proved too strong for their North Devon hosts in a rather one sided affair.
Ruby Turner with four and Evie Cresswell with three led the goal scoring, with Abbie Carthew, Amelia Duffin, Amy Lockyer and Evie Lewis sharing the other goals.
The astro pitches came to the rescue for the U7s as they entertained sides from Copplestone and Moors and they had some great results in the rain.
