A CREDITON sporting star has returned from a recent competition with a haul of medals.

Dee Weiner was competing at the Special Olympics Badminton Nationals at the University of Nottingham during the weekend of October 17 to 19.

She told the Courier: “I had a great time competing and seeing all my friends from all over the country!

“I came back with three medals, a silver in the ladies singles and a silver in the ladies doubles and got gold in the Mixed Doubles for England in the learning disability category.

“This year I had to play in Division One because there wasn’t enough Division One players and I am at the top of Division Two so it was a challenge but a good challenge.

“I worked really hard to get these medals! I was lucky enough to have my coach Jake Dan come along to the competition to support and coach me too!”
