A NEW weekly tai chi/qigong class starts tomorrow, Wednesday, November 23, at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton.

The class will be held in the dance studio from 8.30am to 9.30am each Wednesday.

The course will be run by Rob Byrnes, 5th Dan Master of Chinese Martial Arts, Tai Chi and Qigong and National Kung Fu Champion 2014-2016.

He said: “If you are an existing member of Mid Devon Leisure or would like to be, then this is a class for you.

“This class is also for you if you are not an existing member of our weekly tai chi class at the Old Town Hall in Crediton on Wednesday from 10am to 11.15am.”

He said there were a number of health benefits of tai chi.

He added: “This gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life.

“Tai chi is often described as ‘meditation in motion’, but it might well be called ‘medication in motion’.

“This is especially true at this time of year when our immunity needs to be gently worked and our body encouranged in envigorating movement.”

Call into the Leisure Centre or telephone 01884 234970 to book your place.
