CHERITON Fitzpaine Primary School Tag Rugby team were the winners of the recent semi-final against their Federation friends at Newton St Cyres.

Great forward play and backing up from the team led to a 12-3 win and into a tense and exciting final against Alphington.

Both teams gave it everything with some excellent tagging to keep the score tight. Eventually Cheriton just ran out of time and Alphington won 4-3.

There was praise for the team and their sportsmanship which won them the shield for fair play.

In total the team received two trophies and the shield and all three are now proudly displayed at the school.

The school's tag rugby team then went on to achieve a fantastic result by finishing runners up at the Exeter Chiefs tournament winning the shield for fair play and best sporting behaviour.
