THE recent PUMA Taekwon-Do Technical Seminar hosted by local PUMA Taekwon-Do instructor Dave Powlesland, was held at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton.

The seminar was run by Mr Adam and Mrs Jenny Swain who travelled down from Southampton to teach and lead the event.

Dave runs a number of classes around the Crediton, Copplestone and Newton St Cyres areas, so it was great opportunity for the local students to have a PUMA seminar held in our area.

Dave said: "It was very informative and fun event and thanked all those from his schools plus others, who had travelled from further afield such as Somerset and Cornwall to support the event.

Dave has been involved with Martial Arts since the late 1980s and has been teaching PUMA Taekwon-Do and Little PUMA (4 to 6yr old) classes in the local area since the early 2000s.

In this time the PUMA group has regularly seen many students progress to higher level national and international competitive events. So to have the Swains as current European Champions and the technical coordinator’s for the PUMA association visit and run a seminar in the Crediton area was very welcomed by all the local PUMA Instructors.

Dave and his team run sessions for all ages and abilities throughout most weekday evenings as well as Sunday morning sessions, a number of the local sessions are family orientated so various ages and abilities have the opportunity to do something as a family whilst still being able to progress and develop as individuals.
