CREDITON Rugby Club members are saddened to learn of the death of Bill Wadsworth at the age of 91.
Bill was a tremendous servant to Crediton RFC, joining initially as a squash member and then joining the Committee in 1981.
He was a very competitive squash player and certainly took no prisoners as he proved such a valuable asset to the squash team. He was Chairman of the Squash Committee from 1982 until 1986 when he became the Club Vice Chairman.
The following year he took over the role of Club Chairman continuing until 1991.
In 1997, Bill was elected Club President, a position he held for 11 years during which time he was made a Life Member of Crediton RFC.
Bill was from a sporting background as both his father Walter and uncle Harold played soccer for Liverpool and so it was inevitable that sport would always figure in his life.
Bill was a true gent and was always on-hand to volunteer his help whenever necessary, totally reliable with the rugby club at heart he will be missed by so many.
Our thoughts are with Margaret and family at this sad time.
