CREDITON RFC Women delivered a dominant display against local rivals Okehampton in their Intermediate Cup clash on October 26, securing a well-deserved 34–14 victory.
Having suffered a defeat to the same side just a week earlier, Crediton came out with renewed determination and intensity.
Alice set the tone early with a powerful drive over the line to open the scoring. Ellen followed up with a well-executed try, and Katie added the conversion.
Further tries from Holly Keast and Rachael Mortimer underlined Crediton's control of both territory and possession.
The hosts clearly learned from their previous encounter, matching Okehampton’s physicality and effectively neutralising their pace out wide.
Okehampton managed a converted try in response, but Crediton’s relentless pressure ensured they went into the break with a commanding 22–7 lead.
The visitors struck first in the second half with another converted try, narrowing the gap to 22–14.
However, Crediton remained composed and continued to apply pressure. Rachael Mortimer crossed for her second try of the match, with Katie once again adding the extras.
The final blow came when Emma Davie reacted swiftly to a loose ball from a lineout near the Okehampton try line, diving over to seal the win in style.
Final Score: Crediton 34 – Okehampton 14
Crediton’s blend of hard-running attack and resolute defence proved too much for an Okehampton side missing their usual pace. With standout performances across the pitch, Crediton now advances to face Ivybridge in the next round of the Intermediate Cup.
