ON a recent Sunday morning, Crediton RFC Under 12's hosted a touring side from Marr Rugby Club (Troon, Scotland) who are currently the Scotland U12 champions.

The match was organised by Scott Baker of Crediton, who explained: “They came down to see their side Glasgow Warriors play Exeter Chiefs in the European Cup on that Saturday before playing us on the Sunday.

“On the Saturday, they trained with the community chiefs then lined up opposite our Crediton U12's as the guard of honour for the match (Live on TV).

“We billed this (In our heads at least) as the boys' first 'International' and had national anthems and flags etc on the Sunday.

“It was a fantastic game, played in the true spirit of rugby with our Marr opposition winning on the day, despite our best efforts and some friendships started and rekindled.

“They have invited us up for a return fixture in Glasgow in the future.”
