TWO former Crediton Rugby Club players will take on lead roles for Exeter Chiefs tomorrow, Saturday, September 20.

Jack Yeandle will lead the Chiefs out as Captain at the Recreation Ground against Bath Rugby in the second round of the Premiership Cup.

Meanwhile youngster Louie Gulley will wear the captain's armband at Butts Park Arena in a friendly against Coventry.

Both players are hookers who played for Crediton at youth level before becoming Chiefs.

Jack Yeandle said: “This should be front page news of the Crediton Courier! Two Crediton lads, who’d have thought?

“In all seriousness, Louie’s one of those people who will go out and lead with his actions; he’s a very energetic player. His work-rate and his involvement in games is what has put him above others and put him in the mix for a captaincy.

“He’s a smart cookie, so he’ll definitely have the right words to say at the right time.”

Jack has just marked having played for the Chiefs for over 10 years.

Yenz, as he is nicknamed, has held many charity fundraising events during his testimonial year, including a charity cycle and a charity Rugby Rush tournament, which was held at Crediton Rugby Club.

Yenz has been the beating heart of Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park for more than a decade, having arrived from Doncaster Knights in 2012.

He has clocked up more than 300 appearances, becoming a true stalwart of the modern era.

Louie signed a senior contract with Exeter Chiefs for the 2025/26 season in April.

He joined the Chiefs Academy four years prior to that and played in England’s 2024 World Rugby U20 Championship winning squad.
