Crediton RFC 3rd XV 5 - Wadebridge Camels RFC 2nd XV 38

IT was another tough game for Crediton RFC 3rd XV as we welcomed a strong Cornish side to Blagdon in Wadebridge 2nd XV.

The first half was a fantastic display, with plenty of testosterone and true grit, as both sides were battering into each other and neither were slipping in defence,

Captain Ben Rodd lead from the front as always and the lads followed.

Sam Cliff was outstanding in defence and attack, with many hard hits and runs!

A bit of ill sportsmanship from the Camels wound up Tariq Sayers and encouraged him to smash through a couple defenders to score in the corner!

Owen Cooper gave a great effort but just skimmed the posts on the wrong side with the conversion.

Unfortunately, that was our only score of the afternoon.

The second half was a different story and with Jamie Crang, Tariq Sayers, Tom O'Donnell and Ashley Bradnock all coming off with injuries, the Camel's structure and fitness shone through.

With some impressive handling, they were able to exploit the space and run out winners.

This was definitely a game of two halves, but the lads did not give up and battled to the final whistle.

A special mention to Elliot Butterfield who came on for his first senior game and was vicious in defence from the back row!

We thank Wadebridge for making the journey up and giving us a great game, it was just the test we needed as we prepare for a tough game against Barnstaple at home next week.
