RUGBY has featured high on the agenda at Yeoford Primary School this term - it has been the focus for work, has brought in members of Exeter Chiefs to work with the pupils and resulted in colourful new designs for rugby shirts.
This was all part of the Rugby World Cup 2015. Told that this aimed to promote unity between nations, pupils were challenged to design and make a rugby shirt that promoted this idea and featured a design reflecting the joining together of those countries taking part.
They had to explain how they got to their final design, how it represented a club or country, and the material used for the shirt.
Most used fabric paint and pens to achieve their result, a few glued the parts of their design onto their shirt.
Working with members of Class Two, the 7-9 year olds, members of Exeter Chiefs judged the final shirts, putting Jessica, Molly and Charles in the top three slots.
Everyone enjoyed their project, some making shirts for themselves, others for younger members of the family.
