TWO International rugby players from Tonga, Elvis Talone and Fetu'u Valnikolo, joined a training session with Crediton Rugby Club Under 12's. The event was sponsored by Westexe Forklifts with Exeter Chiefs, as a way of getting the Chiefs out into the community to help promote the game at all levels. There are ties between the Chiefs and Crediton Rugby Club; Greg Vooght of Westexe Forklifts is the uncle of one of the Under 12's and ex-Crediton players Sam Hill and Jack Yeandle now play for Exeter Chiefs. Elvis, a hooker with the Chiefs and Fetu'u, a winger, helped and advised with the session. During their training the Under 12' s coached by Shane Bayley, Toby Newstead and Danny Howard, started with a non-contact warm-up then focused on tackling, which they will bring into their next game. Elvis explained: "Obviously, this is very close to my heart. "It is always good to see children at grassroots level motivated and enjoying rugby." The club has a good junior section ranging from Under 9's to Under 16's with two girls teams, Under 13's and Under 15's.
