ON Saturday, March 9 Queens A and B players took on the best badminton clubs in the area including Isca A and Cranford Sports Club. All clubs put out fantastic teams to compete in the match.

Six of the Queens A team have played for Devon County and they took first place on the day, after some very hard fought matches.

This is the second year in a row that Queens A have won the league and again emphasises the strength in depth at the club.

Queens were also the only club to have two teams in the premiership competing with the best in the area.

Special mention must be made to Jenny Maddison, this year's captain and team manager, for helping coaches select the two teams.

Sarah Preece, Head Coach said: "I was delighted with their performances and to see so many of the players enjoying themselves."

Another major success for Queens was Alex Moir, who competed in Bournemouth over the weekend and won the bronze tournament for Under 13's.

Alex took on and beat the No. 1's for several counties. This is a spectacular result. Very many congratulations Alex.
