MEMBERS of the Crediton and Copplestone PUMA Taekwon-Do recently travelled to Bristol to take part in the National PUMA (Professional Unification of Martial Arts) Junior Championships.

The nine members from the local squad all secured at least one medal, with a total of 13 titles being acquired.

They took part in a sparring and high kick special techniques, plus the traditional taekwon-do forms.

Dave Powlesland, local chief instructor, said it was "a brilliant achievement" to have them rewarded at such a high level for their hard work and dedication to their hobby and sport.

He went on: "Taekwon-Do is a brilliant vehicle for all ages and abilities to achieve their goals.

"We are currently running taster and introduction sessions for anyone who would like to join our dynamic and friendly group."
