GOLD, silver and bronze medals were won by the Crediton and Copplestone Taekwon-Do PUMA groups, run by Dave Powlesland, a 4th Degree Black Belt international instructor, at the recent PUMA World Open Championships held in Swindon.
Over the two days more than 700 people, from across the UK and the world, took part in the championships.
Dave explained: "We also saw a number of various associations national GB teams attend, which was brilliant to see so many people taking part.
"We were fortunate enough to have come home with a total of eight gold silver and bronze medals.
"Our Crediton and Copplestone members have literally put our local area back on the map, for a small rural area of Devon to have such talent, performing at such a high level, is a brilliant achievement.
"It is important that all our local leaders and decision makers in the Crediton and the Mid Devon area get to hear about these people as they are true ambassadors for our area and are promoting the area and facilities in such a positive light."
Dave was the first PUMA Instructor to enable and assist a deaf and blind student with additional physical limitations achieve their black belt.
Martial Arts has so much to offer to so many - if anyone would like to find out how to part of something a little different, but something that will be able to assist them in achieving their own goals, then please give Dave Powlesland a call on 07802 855 852.
Sessions run throughout the week with classes for children, aged from four to six years, called Little PUMA's as well as Taekwon-Do sessions for all ages and abilities.
