AMONG the local people who returned with medals after successfully completing the 26.2 mile London Marathon this month were several members of the Crediton Running Network. Jo Zillwood and her husband, Dan, both from Crediton, ran in aid of Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. Unfortunately, Jo was injured during the run but, with the support of Dan, she completed the marathon in five hours 14 minutes, with her husband alongside. Jo said that she ran in aid of the charity after she met a local lady with a Hearing Dog puppy while out walking her own dog in Crediton. Kevan Percy Jeans, from New Buildings, ran for the charity, Medicine San Frontier, and completed the course in four hours and 19 minutes. Karen Limon, from Sandford, an asthma sufferer, ran in aid of Asthma UK and, with the support of many friends and family, hopes to have raised £3,500 for the charity. She completed the marathon in three hours 20 minutes. Sam Charlton, from Crediton, ran in aid of two charities, Parkinsons UK and Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. Sam chose those charities as she has a relative that has been diagnosed with Parkinsons and a very brave work colleague who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy. She has raised £600 in sponsorship and donations, to date, and ran the marathon in four hours 44 minutes. Sarah Ford, on behalf of CRN, congratulated all the members who took part, on the results they achieved and for raising funds for the charities. Alan Quick
