ICY weather conditions last weekend brought a blanket of snow over Creedy Lakes Fishery in Crediton. However, several anglers dared to venture out to enjoy some sport.

It was the first 20 pounder of the season for Crediton angler Mike Izzard who chose to do his favourite type of fishing casting on the surface which is exceptionally rare for this time of the year especially with the recent weather conditions.

His perseverance was well-rewarded when he struck into a nice common carp which registered 21lbs 6oz on the scales.

Another local angler, Ian Marshall, also paid his first visit to Creedy this season and enjoyed some nice action banking two good sized specimen commons.

His first fish hit the scales at exactly 20lbs on the nail and this catch was later followed by another nice one weighing 17lbs 5oz.

Paul Baker of New Buildings tempted out a couple of singles whilst fishing at the top end of the left bank.
