WEDNESDAY, April 19 saw Jim Hutchison take the win in the Mid-Week Stableford at Downes Crediton Golf Club scoring 39 points.

Jim Dunlop (38 pts) followed in second place with Andy Jackaman posting 36 points for third.

Wednesday also saw Downes seniors play the Wednesday Wizards. Ian Pring took the victory scoring 37 points beating Mike Hammond (37 pts) into second courtesy of a better back nine holes. Den Conibear won the nine-hole Wizards scoring 16 points.

Thursday, April 19 saw June Mitchell win overall in the County Stableford Three posting 37 points. This also saw her win the Bronze One Division with Trish Wallis scoring 35 points for second place.

Lyn Parry won the Silver Division with a 37 point total with Tracey Chandler (33 pts) second whilst Sue Bond (32 pts) won the Bronze Two Division.

The Thursday evening Stableford saw Derek Shaw take the win scoring 19 points over nine holes.

Saturday, April 22 saw a couple of events take place. In the morning a Club Stableford saw Tony Wonnacott win scoring a fine 41 points.

Ben Marchant (39 pts) finished in second place while Paul Sandercock and John Ponsford were third and fourth respectively after both posting 38 points.

The afternoon saw a St George’s Day fun nine holes shotgun start team Texas Scramble followed by a superb hog roast.

The leading men’s team, scoring a nett 30, were Peter Popert, Will Cockerham, Neil Wilson and Darrell Pidgeon whilst winning the mixed event were Lyn Parry, Tracey Chandler, Fran Shrubsole and Matt Brooks scoring a nett 31.5.

Downes Crediton ladies won their opening President’s match 5-2 playing at home against Sidmouth.

Ladies Captain, Shirley Stunell, and partner Sue Barr won their DCLVGA knock out match beating Wrangaton at Stover winning on the 19th hole.

Downes Crediton’s Dartmoor League Team, played their second match of the current season, lost 3.5 to 1.5 away to Wrangaton.
