MONDAY, August 17 saw the Seniors play at Downes Crediton Golf Club, the annual Mike Dunk and Phil Ollis trophies and saw some fantastic scores as Gerry Hodder claimed the Phil Ollis trophy, shooting a superb score of 40 points to take Division One as well.

Nick Bromell finished second with 40 points as well but lost to a better back nine.

In Division Two it was John Rance with a great score of 39 points who won the Mike Dunk Trophy and Division Two prize.

It was Paul Dorothy who scored 37 points to finish second.

On Tuesday, August 18, in the Junior front nine competition, it was Sam Kibbey who scored 17 points to take top spot.

On Wednesday, August 19, Neil Buchan won the week’s Wednesday stableford with a fantastic score of 45 points.

Thursday, August 20 saw the ladies Yellow ball team won by the team of Diane Parsons, Sue Bonner and June Mitchell with a score of 72 points.

The team of Fran Shrubsole, Lyn Parry and Ying Wong scored 65 points to finish second.

Last week’s Thursday nine hole stableford was won by Simon March with a score of 20 points.

With these strange times the original Cody medal, which was meant to be played in April, was played during the weekend of Saturday, August 22 and saw some fantastic golf being played.

Ollie Greenslade, who continues his good form, took the Cody Medal and Division One prize by shooting a gross 67 (three under) nett 65 to pip Rob Whittleston, who scored a gross 71 (one over) nett 65 by a better back nine.

In Division Two it was Jerry Thornton who scored a nett 69 to take top spot.

In Division Three it was Stu Willcocks who scored a nett 70 to walk away with first place.
