SENIOR members of Downes Crediton Golf Club took part in an individual stableford on Monday, March 13 which saw Roger Field take top spot scoring a fine 42 points.

Richard Tomkins followed in second place with a 41 point total whilst Colin Parr finished third scoring 40. Seniors Captain, Bill Dick , finished fourth scoring 39 points.

Thursday, March 16 saw Downes ladies play their Captain’s Team versus Vice-Captain’s Team match and the Vice Captain’s team ran out victorious by a scoreline of 5-2.

After the match Ladies Captain Shirley Stunell handed the winning Vice Captain, Sue Barr, the Salver.

A total of 106 Downes members took to the course on Saturday, March 18 to play an individual stableford, open to all sections of the club.

Top score of the day went to Tony Melluish who put together a magnificent 11 under par 47 points and saw his handicap tumble from 26 to 21.

Quinn Payne-Cook followed in second place scoring 42 points courtesy of a tremendous back nine holes that saw him take just 31 strokes, four under par gross, for a 27 points haul.

Kev Grant finished third posting 41 points whilst Todd Dove and Jon Piper placed fourth and fifth respectively after both scoring 40. The ever-consistent Fran Shrubsole topped the ladies Division.
