SENIORS at Downes Crediton Golf Club played a four ball better ball competition on Monday, January 8 and with a packed field and the course in great condition, there was some superb scoring.
It was the duo of Jim Kenshole and David Vowden who took the top spot with a fantastic score of 46 points, two points clear of the second placed team of Peter Caston and Ian Pring, who posted 44 points.
They were closely followed by Graham Jones and Frank Sanders who scored 43 points to finish in third place.
The ladies played their annual three clubs and a putter competition on Thursday, January 11 and although there was limited choices of clubs this did not stop some good scoring.
Keeping up her good form, Di Botterill stole the show with a superb score of 41 points to beat Liz Mapson (40 pts) to top spot. Fran Shrubsole took third place with 36 points.
Downes members had the pleasure of full greens and no restrictions on Saturday’s (January 13) Club Stableford and they took advantage of a course in excellent condition with some fine scoring.
Josh Hill took overall first place with a tremendous score of 45 points and also topped Division Two beating Alan Willey (44 pts) into second place.
Daryl Pidgeon won Division One with a great score of 42 points with Will Cockerham posting 40 points to take second whilst Jason Arnold (40 pts) finished in third place.
Division Three was won by Shaun Cross scoring an excellent 44 points with Ashley Rookes (43 pts) taking second. Kate Cornish took best ladies score with 38 points.
