OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held its first ladies open competition this year on Friday, May 10 which saw the format being a Three Ball Delaney Texas Scramble which proved to be a lot of fun and very successful.

The overall winners with 60.8 points were Sue Williams (Okehampton) Beth Ratcliffe (Launceston) and Collette Burgess (Bude).

Second overall were Janice Thwaites and Maureen Willcocks (Okehampton) and Alison Kershaw (Newport) with 63.4 points.

The best visitor prize was awarded to Beverley Meeke, Jane Scoble and Rita Bourne (Exeter Golf and Country Club ) with 65.2 points.

The best combination prize went to Celia Jarvis (St Enodoc) Judith Ezard and Penny Deakin (Okehampton) with 64.8 points.

Congratulations to Barry Down and Ian Moore on their great weekend of golf competing in the Mid Devon Foursomes at Okehampton and Downes Crediton Golf Clubs winning the County Scratch & Handicap Trophies along with the MDF’s 36-hole Handicap Trophy. Very well done guys!
