THE duo of Peter Blinkhorn and Duane Greenslade produced some sparkling golf on Monday, November 15 at Downes Crediton Golf Club as they romped to victory in the Seniors Pairs Stableford with a superb 47 points.

Two points further back, in second, were Dennis Wright and Rick Eidam (45pts) with Richard Burston and Graham Browne (44pts) following in third.

Downes Ladies played the Joker Stableford on Thursday, November 18, where they were permitted to nominate two holes where their score would be doubled.

Making the most of this, to post the best score of the day, was Fran Shrubsole whose 38 points beat Anne Woodger (38pts) into second courtesy of a better back nine holes.

Division Two saw victory for June Mitchell scoring 33 points.

Another beautiful autumn day on Saturday, November 20 saw Nigel Chard, Mike Napper and Tommy Gibbs come out on top in the Team Poultry Stableford scoring a magnificent 88 points.

Mike White, Robin Tooze and Ed Gallois scored 83 points to take second place whilst Chet Greenslade, Duane Greenslade and Scott Peters (81pts), finished third.

Sunday, November 20 saw Downes Crediton host its first ever Winter Open and it proved to a resounding success as a full field of members and visitors enjoyed competing over a Downes course in excellent condition.

Winners at the end of the day were the home trio of Stephen Yates, Ricky Buttle and Phil Beasley who produced a fine 88 points. Two shots further back in second were Great Torrington members Kai Dymond, Dan Wilson and Wayne Hobbs (86pts) whilst Jack Greenslade, John Greenslade and Daniel Williams from Woodbury were placed third, scoring 82.
